MapQuest updated its Navigator application to version 5.0 and decided to penetrate the market that is mostly taken by TeleNav and offer half price subscription until the end of December - $4.99 a month.
Besides the regular features such as:
- Voice guided turn-by-turn directions
- recalculation of a route if you missed a turn
- real time traffic
- Gas prices and locations
- 16 million POI
MapQuest Navigator offers the following special features that are not available on TeleNav:
- Integration with AOL CityGuide to show restaurant and venue ratings
- Pedestrian navigation option
- Send to friend - Send a location from a map (or your current location) to a friend so they can navigate to this location (if they have MapQuest Navigator installed or if they don't it will open the location in a browser in the mobile version of MapQuest.
